By the middle of March,. four more Post offices will have closed across Southampton Test, with a further five across the rest of the city.

The Closures, starting with Upper Shirley on the 28th February, followed by Shirley Road and Park Road in Freemantle on 2nd March finishing with Wimpson Lane on the 7th March.

Commenting on the closures, Steve Sollitt, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman for Southampton Test said "This is another clear example of where we have been let down by a Labour Government, determined to rob local communities of their lifeline. Whilst the local Labour MP may be disappointed by the news of these closures, it is his government and the Tories before them that have done so much damage to the Post Office network across this country."

He concluded "I am angered by these closures and there could be worse to come as there is still a question mark over the future of many Crown Post Offices across the city"
