Its Official! Surveys show that student debt would spiral under the Tories while the Liberal Democrat Policy to scrap all tuition fees would be a better deal for students

This is the verdict of the independent and internationally respected Institute of Fiscal Studies, which has published its analysis of all three parties polices for higher education.

The report says ""Debt on Graduation would be lower under the Liberal Democrats. Indeed outstanding debt could go up under the Conservatives for low earners, even as they repay"

Steve Sollitt, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesperson for Southampton Test said "These results come after six opinion polls showing that its the Liberal Democrats who are offering the best deal to students"

"The Tories will make out they are the party for Students but this survey shows that they are not telling the whole truth about the effect of their policies on student debt"
