Steve Sollitt, Parliamentary Spokesperson for Southampton Test has welcomed the extension of the city wide recycling to include Redbridge Ward. The introduction across our area is part of the Liberal Democrat controlled city council plan to introduce the distinctive blue lidded bins to improve our recycling rates.

Steve is pictured outside his home with his newly delivered bin.

Steve said "This is a huge step forward for our area. There was a real need for recycling and this introduction will help the city reach the 30% target set by the Government.

Its a pity that Labour and the Tories in the city will cost council tax payers £3/4 million pound in increased costs and lost grant following the blocking by them of the successful alternate weekly collections.
